    Nicole Mena was drawn to acupuncture and Eastern medicine when she was experiencing anxiety and sleep issues. She found it to be the only therapy that helped her, and that began her love of this medicine.
    Nicole's dedication to her craft is unwavering. As an acupuncturist and herbalist, she has specialized in fertility and reproductive disorders, finding immense joy in guiding her patients on their unique journey to conception.
    Having personally experienced the challenges of fertility issues,
    Nicole brings a unique understanding and empathy to her practice. She is committed to empowering her patients, helping them navigate this complex process with confidence.
    She uses a mix of Japanese-style acupuncture with herbal medicine and supplement support to give her patients a comprehensive treatment.
    Nicole also loves to help her patients with digestive support, sleep support and helping lower anxiety.
    When she is not at work, she is spending time with her husband and children in Philadelphia.

    What brings you joy?

    When I had my daughter, I had a very difficult pregnancy. I delivered her early, which was very hard emotionally and physically. I had seen many OBGYN’s over the years since then and never felt that I was able to fully recover from that and that I was getting any answers. A friend of mine had suggested acupuncture when I talked to her one day, which is something she used to help regulate her cycles. It was working so well for her that I decided to try it!

    What is your superpower?

    Fertility, fertility, fertility! That is what drew me to acupuncture in the first place, and it still holds true! There is so much we don’t know in this field, both in Western and Eastern medicine. With Eastern medicine and Chinese herbal medicine, I have found so much knowledge. I have seen so many changes in my patients for the better! And of course, the best part is having a patient who has been trying to conceive for so long tell me they are pregnant! Working with my patients through this is a partnership. I love helping our patients take charge of their own health and well-being. We are just here to guide you along the way!

    What was before Six Fishes?

    Before Six Fishes, I was in a community setting, which was a very important clinical learning experience for me. I like having more time with my patients now, and being able to prescribe herbal medicine through China Herb Co is a huge bonus! Also, before Six Fishes (and still doing now!) I am raising an amazing son and daughter who inspires me every day!
