    ACUPUNCTURIST AT SIX FISHES

From her struggles with severe eczema since early childhood and dissatisfaction with Western medical treatment results, Sul was determined from a young age to find answers for her ailments and others suffering from similar conditions.

She discovered acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Which showed profound respect and wisdom for the body. While still in school, she undertook advanced studies in Chinese Medical Dermatology with Mazin Al-Kafhaji, the world expert on this topic. Sul specializes in treating dermatological disorders, autoimmune conditions, allergies, gastrointestinal concerns, and cosmetic treatments. She believes that lifestyle, diet, and supplementation are important pillars of sustained healing and incorporates these into her treatment plans.

  • CHINESE MEDICINE LOVE STORY

    What brings you joy?

Outside of the office, playing music brings me joy. I’ve been a drummer since I was 11 years old and find self-expression through music to be healing, especially when collaborating with other artists. I also really enjoy walking around the city listening to supernatural and true crime podcasts while checking out all the cute cats and dogs in the neighborhood. You’ll often find me at a park drinking coffee at all hours of the day.

  • how I work

    What’s your superpower?

I am a sensitive person and connect easily with others. This has helped me create a welcoming space where people feel comfortable opening up and sharing their needs to heal. Therefore, I work very well with those experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, and grief. As someone who carries all of their stress in their upper back and shoulders, I have a special knack for helping those with the same issue. As a result, my treatments leave people feeling lighter, calmer, and more centered.

  • who I am

    What was before Six Fishes?

Before Six Fishes, I was a full-time touring musician. I also still run a record label that works primarily with queer and trans artists. Touring is physically and emotionally exhausting. However, once I could apply the tools of acupuncture and herbal medicine, my health during long touring cycles improved greatly. Since then, I’ve wanted to share the benefits of this medicine with others. Also, working with the LGBTQIA+ community has changed the way I view inclusivity within the field of medicine.
