Beauty From the Inside Out

Beauty From the Inside Out

Beata Masalanka, L.OM.

Let’s face it! Aging is a natural process and no procedure can or will stop it.

Most of us would like to look younger. Not only look younger but feel younger. As a specialist in Acupuncture Facial Treatments I am determined to talk about the state of beauty industry and offer safe, holistic and health supportive alternatives.

Facial acupuncture rejuvenation works and it’s a healthy way to look better and younger. At Six Fishes, we don’t only focus on your skin; we use a whole-body method to help improve your health.

Let’s take a sober look at some of the cosmetic procedures and the results the offer:

First, there’s injectables and fillers. They can be injected between the eyebrows, underneath the eyes, lips, nasal labial grooves to fill plump up and fill the lines.

The results are temporary, and maintenance is required. They are myriad of side effects like skin swelling, redness and irritation.

What about Botulism toxin injections, commonly called Botox? It is a neurotoxin and it again works by temporarily paralyzing muscles. There are so many possible side effects. Pain, swelling, bruising at the injection site, headache or flu-like symptoms, droopy eyelid , crooked smile or drooling, eye dryness or excessive tearing are the major ones . Since the effects of Botox injections are temporary, most people get repeated injections over time and are exposed to all the above side effects.

Only because we see so many commercials advertising Botox, it does not make it any less dangerous. Most astonishing, is that Botox can blunt emotions!

Laser treatments have come a long way from old-fashioned ablative lasers causing epidermis burning to less invasive that can deliver heat directly into dermis. The goal is to wipe out age spots, damaged and discolored skin. These new laser treatments will leave your skin red for few days and in need of special care but reduce potential for scarring. Some of the results may last up to two years. They still did nothing to improve your overall health and the health of your skin.

Now the big one, plastic surgery: There are face lifts, upper eye lift, lower eye lift, brow lift, chin implants, cheap implants. The thing about surgery is that it has a serious impact on your body and any mistakes are more noticeable, more permanent and sometimes dangerous.

Why is it important to remember that? It’s because none of the cosmetic procedures offered will give you lasting results. They are all temporary and they all require maintenance.

Our willingness to undergo unhealthy and risky procedures in order to look better is pervasive and astonishing.

As far I am concerned acupuncture facial is one of few, if not the only, treatment that is concerned with improving your overall health, while rendering cosmetic results. And it really works!

By learning to apply the principles of Chinese Medicine and acupuncture we ca maintain the youthful appearance and help us look younger as well as slow down the aging process. To me, that sounds like a perfect solution!

I invite you to schedule a free consult with me where we can explore solutions to your health concerns.
